Champion helps raise $11,246 to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bowl for Kids’ Sake

Champion, a bronze alley sponsor, raised $11,246 for BBBS.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio is the third largest metropolitan agency out of almost 400 BBBS affiliates. Each year, BBBS serves more than 5,000 match relationships in an effort to develop quality mentoring relationships inspiring youth to be confident, competent and caring individuals in the central Ohio community.
The 2012 Bowl for Kids’ Sake—BBBS’ largest and most important annual fundraiser—attracted 71 teams and 1,034 bowlers. Altogether, the event raised nearly $425,000, with Champion ranking 7th overall for total dollars raised.
“This year we set a company-wide goal to raise $7,500 and we blew that out of the water, which I think is a real testament of the wonderful people who make up the Champion team,” Michelle Yeager, senior vice president and chief operations officer, said. “We have an amazing group of individuals at Champion who jump at every opportunity to get involved in the community.”
Champion is a strong supporter of the BBBS program as its president and CEO, Brian Yeager, has been a big brother since 2005. In addition to sponsoring and participating in BFKS, Champion will sponsor the 29th annual Taste of Class for Kids and host its annual Doc & Yeager golf invitational to help raise money and awareness for the BBBS mentoring programs.
“As a company, we believe that we have a civic responsibility to donate our time and resources to local causes,” Michelle Yeager said. “We will continue to take part in multiple initiatives that allow us to contribute to making central Ohio a great place work and live.”
